Siamese Firedback Pheasant (Lophura Dairdi)
Other names : Diard Fireback.

Sub sorts : no sub-sort exists.

Homeland : Evergreen bamboo forests of southern China at altitudes up to 600 m.

Description : This is a beautiful bird, which has adult feather during the first year. Its comb is long and body is covered with violet-black feathers. There are shiny extension at top. Neck, head and face are black. Middle part of back is bright yellow therefore it is so called fireback. It’s got a long and curly tail with brights in metallic black, blue and green. Wings are gray with stripes in black and white. Beak is yellow and legs are red. Females do not have crest. Extension on top are shorter than those of males. Chin and neck are grayish brown; bakc and upper chest are shiny chestnut color.

Reproduction time : it starts in March and continues until June.

Reproduction age : they start to reproduce in second year although they achieve appearance of adult in first year.

Annual egg number : 5 - 8.

Incubation period : they require warm shelters during cold months. They are fed with egg feed, wheat, oats, corn and greens in well planted cages.
