Crested Fireback Pheasant (Lophura ignita)

3) Malayan or Veilott Crested Fireback Pheasant; L.i.rufa- Survives in Malay peninsula or in Sumatra. 
4) Delacour Crested Fireback Pheasant; L.i.macartney- Survives in South East Sumatra.

Homeland : Thailand, Malaya, Sumatra and Borneo.

Description : Velliott Crested Fireback Pheasant –Lofura Ignita Rufa- males have light cobalt colored face extensions that contain four lobes. These are regularly settled around the eye and bottom lobe has a red point thereon. Legs are dark red. It has a great tail, of which middle feathers are white. Complete chest and sides of body are dark blue however side feathers contain white shaft bars in different width. On the copper color spot on back, red is less and violet is much. Females have head, crest and upper parts in chestnut color and have thin black stripes on winds and tail covers. Chin and neck are white. Legs are red and complete tail is chestnut color.

Reproduction time : From may till august.

Reproduction age : third year.

Annual egg number : 4 - 6 eggs.

Incubation period : Males may become aggressive against both companions and other fowls. Male should be kept in a different cage proir to reproduction season. Male should be placed in the female’s cage after first egg having been laid. They are not polygam. Females select a point under bushes to lay egg. They don’t like much cold since they are form tropical climates. Ground of coop should be well greened. Fireback likes to perch on heights.
