White Eared Pheasant (Crossotilon crossoptilon drouyni)
Sub sorts : monotypical.

Homeland : forests of trees with cypress cone at 4200 meters height in Middle China.

Description : upper part of head is covered with velvet-like black feathers. Ears are white starting from bottom of chin extending backward. Face skin is red. Remainder part of body is blueish gray. Prematured fowls have brown spots. Adult feathers come up at 4-month age. Males and females are similar but they can be distinguished by means of spurs. Males have bigger and rounded spurs. Spurs start to appear at 4-month age.

Reproduction time : from end of April till June.

Reproduction age : second year.

Annual egg number : 6-12 eggs

Incubation period : This is a fruitfull pheasant on breeding. They lay big eggs. Females like to lay egg just beneath. They should be bred in couples. Female prevails male pheasant. Blue eared pheasants are usually submissive in breeding ambient. They can get used to human easily and eat from hand. They incise bottom of cop in order to reach larvas and worms by using their big and heavy beaks. They are not very resistant to hot and humidity. They can endure cold. They are fed with egg-feed, cereal and greens. They like vivid feed.
