Western Tragopan (Tragopan melanocephalus)

Other names : Black headed tragopan, White horned pheasant

Sub sorts : unavailable.

Homeland : Himalaya forests.

Incubation period : Breeding had started upon fowls more than fifty having brought to London Zoo and to breeders in France over a period of 30 years in 1860’s. Their existence in collection has been disappeared in 1930s and from that time on, very less number of fowls have been brought to America or Europe. Presently any western tragopan is not breeded in U.S.A. This fowl is presently started to breed in Himachal Pradesh India by assistance of World Pheasant Association.
